Hi everyone! PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING POSTING FROM START TO FINISH!
I have looked over the handout Generate Ideas: Doing What You Love that I collected yesterday. I received some really great work! Thank you to all that participated with that activity! For today, I would like for you to read the first article named Mission Statement. The article introduces the topic of mission statements. YES, we have to create a mission statement for our business! A mission statement is a sentence describing a company's function, markets and competitive advantages (what the company does better than the competition); a short written statement of your business goals and philosophies . A mission statement defines what an organization is, why it exists, its reason for being. Once you have read the first article, please take a look at the second article named Examples of Mission Statements. The article provides over 500 examples of mission statements. Please take a look!!! When you have completed both readings, please start to create your business's mission statement. We are all at different stages of the business plan. Some of us are still brainstorming for business ideas, some of us are ready to create the mission statement and some of us need to get started. Extend Your Knowledge - Write a short biography (at least 2 paragraphs) about a famous philanthropist who has generously donated to socially beneficial causes. Where did they grow up? How did their life experiences lead them to become a philanthropist? How did this person become successful at business? What causes did (or does) he or she support? Why? How has this person helped make the world a better place?
Please take the time and research a Philanthropist that is of interest to you. Research their life, and create a short mini biographical blog comment showcasing your Philanthropist of choice. Make sure your comment correctly describes and answers the questions above. Your comment should have complete sentences, along with well connected thoughts and ideas. |
